Aluminium foam is preferred as a good insulating material for curtain walls, partitions and roof coatings in buildings. Moreover, aluminium foams are started to be used in viaducts and highways as a sound absorber barrier thanks to their sound insulation and absorption capabilities.

Aluminium is widely used in roof and side coatings, doors and windows, stairs, roof scaffolds and structural frameworks and greenhouse constructions of the buildings and it has achieved a significant market share in the construction sector since it provides a decorative view thanks to the various coatings alongside the hardness. Additionally, aluminium is used for certain important places of the bridges as an alternative to steel.

Aluminium has a high corrosion resistance and it is lightweight and has an advantageous weight/resistance ratio compared to other structural materials; it reduces the maintenance costs of the bridges and extends their economic life. Also, the available load carrying capacity of the bridge is increased, since the dead weight of the bridge (the bridge's self-weight) is decreased.

Likewise, the production of the aluminium foam is commonly used in the construction sector.
